For young people the Pony Club is a recognised way to start riding as well as learning skills and safe riding techniques that will last them all their lives. Most serious riders’ started their riding careers with the Pony club. Through the Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd we can introduce you or your child to riding the Pony Club way without having to own your own pony.
The Pony Club has its’ own website www.pcuk.org .
Rally’s and events are organised at the Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd during half terms and holidays at a special rate for members. These activities are additional to a lesson based programme, and as such are only available to those who are taking regular lessons at the Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd.

29th November - Quiz Night
Come and test your Pony Club knowledge. There will be sections on pony carem riding, famous riders/ horses and much more... Come as an individual or team up with your freinds (max 4 in a team).
Lots of prizes to be won.
Price - £5 per child, Nov 29th. 4:30pm - 6:00pm

Under 10s
Round the world, Barrel to barrel, bending, trotting race & egg & spoon.
Over 10s
Barrel to barrel, bending, egg & spoon, sack race and canter & trot back.
Starts 2pm, £15 entry fee.
December 29th Christmas Show Jumping
Pony Club & Adult sections
Obstacle, 1ft 6in, 2ft, 2ft 3ins, 2ft 6in & 2ft 9ins.
10am start. £10 entry per class.
December 30th Feeding Badge
Un-mounted rally in preparation for feeding badge.
2pm - 3:30pm. £10 fee.

"Own your own pony"
For keener members we run an “own your own pony” scheme, whereby a child is allocated a pony on a monthly basis. To be effective this needs to be seen as more than just a one month slot. This gives the child the feeling of ownership and in practical terms a lesson a week and eight separate riding slots per month. The child is encouraged to care for the pony – grooming, tack cleaning and stable management – to practically learn all about “owning” a pony. Note: we only offer this opportunity to riders who regularly take lessons with us.
