Pony Club
At the Berkshire Riding Centre we are an approved Pony Club Centre - www.pcuk.org . We welcome Pony Club members and they become affiliated to the Centre's Pony Club.
We run many activities at half terms and during the school holidays just for you - from dessage or jumping shows, to rally days, badge work etc. Full details are below and we try and keep this section up to date.
If you are not yet in the Pony Club, you can join here - just ask. We offer activities for all levels from beginner up. If you are a beginner do try one of our "Introduction to Riding" days which teach you all about riding and are great fun.

Tuesday 27th July - Riding & Road Safety Badge training 10am-11am £10
Wednesday 28th July : Riding & Road Safety Badge training 10am-1pm. Fee £10
Thursday 29th July : Riding & Road Safety Badge training 10am-1pm. Fee £10
Friday 30th July : Riding & Road Safety Badge exam 10am-1pm. Fee £10
Tuesday Auguat 3rd : Own a Pony Rally 9:30am - 2pm £40
Tuesday August 3rd : Introduction to Riding day - 10am - 2pm £50
Thursday August 5th: Teens hack 10am - 12pm £35
Tuesday August 10th - D and D+ training 10-12pm £30
Wednesday August 11th - D and D+ training 10-12pm £30
Thursday August 12th : D and D+ exam 10-12pm £30
Tuesday August 17th : Childrens Hack 10-11am £20 - followed by riding in the fields
Thursday August 19th : Badge work rally - 10-2pm £40
Thursday August 19th: Introduction to riding day - 10-2pm £50
Tuesday August 24th: Dessage competition - am. times will be alloted previous day - £15
Thursday August 26th: Own a pony day : 9:30am - 2pm. £40
Also accross July and August we are running 2 hours programmes every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 2-4pm developing individuals for the the BHS progressive Riding Tests - see course page for full details.
Introduction to Horse Riding days (Children):
Are you interested to learn about riding and horses but never tried before? Then this day is for you. It's not a Pony Club day but one organised by us and is specifically designed for children of all ages who have never tried horse riding before. You'll ride, have a lesson, learn how to groom a horse and how to clean a stable. You'll also have lot's of fun. It's 10am - 2pm, bring a packed lunch and costs £50.

"Own your own pony"
For keener members we run an “own your own pony” scheme, whereby a child is allocated a pony on a monthly basis. To be effective this needs to be seen as more than just a one month slot. This gives the child the feeling of ownership and in practical terms a lesson a week and eight separate riding slots per month. The child is encouraged to care for the pony – grooming, tack cleaning and stable management – to practically learn all about “owning” a pony. Note: we only offer this opportunity to riders who regularly take lessons with us.
