Livery

The Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd has 12 years of experience of offering livery. As a result we offer some of the best livery facilities in the area. The Centre is fully BHS approved, which is an industry wide standard of quality.

We have a well equipped, secure yard staffed with professionals. Also being a BHS “Where to Train” centre, all our staff are continually upgrading their qualifications to ensure they have the most complete and update skills. Staff development is one of the main ways we try to continually raise standards and all staff are actively competing.

What do we offer?

The emphasis at the Centre for livery is full (or schooling) livery. This is what we do best.

Full livery covers:       stable, bedding, mucking out and basic feed. Additionally it covers grooming, tack cleaning and an exercise plan. We will school and train your horse on the days you cannot make it to ride in line with the plan we agree with you. Full livery also allows you to use all the Centre's facilities and gives you a discounted rate for lessons.

Schooling livery:         full livery plus six training sessions a week.

What do they not cover?        food supplements, worming, farrier, lessons or vet services. Clinics, shows, lessons etc, whilst available, are available at cost. We have a discounted rate for lessons for livery clients.

Livery facilities:

StablesStables:           We have 36 large boxes. Most are 3.6 metres square and some are pony boxes. We also have 3, separated,  quarantine stables should the need arise. All have automatic watering and a “haybay” for healthy hay feeding. All are separately lit with wiring to latest EU standards, have rubber matting and are bedded on shavings.

Staff:             We have a head of livery, who is responsible for a team of grooms who deliver the livery service. A groom is responsible for a small number of horses, so you can expect the same person to care for your horse.

Facilities:       You will have access to all the Centre’s facilities which are described in full in our facilities page and no pre-booking required.–

Facilities

Farrier:           Whilst you may use your own farrier, we prefer that you use our regular farrier, as most of our existing clients do. He is highly qualified and effective. He has a regular programme and all horses are shod on a 5-6 week programme.

He is readily available for emergency call out if necessary. We pay him centrally and charge you as extras on your monthly detailed bill.

Vet:     Again you may use your own vet, we however you are fee to use our vet with whom we have been working with for many years. Where appropriate this can result in savings, as visits can be shared. Vet bills are between the client and the vet.
