Riding lessons

The Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd is a BHS approved riding establishment – the Industry standard for quality.

Whatever your needs we can help. If you are an absolute beginner or have dreams of becoming an Olympic champion talk to us and we can devise the right lesson programme.

We offer lessons in Jumping, dressage or just honing particular skills. Tell us what you want and well do our best to deliver.

We can arrange one on one individual lessons or group lessons of like minded riders.

 

 

Children, over 4, are welcome. Again either on an individual basis or in group classes.

 

 

 

We have super horses of all sizes from Ponies to 18+ hands. We will find the horse appropriate to your needs. Alternatively you are very welcome to bring your own horse, in which case tell us when you book.

 

 

Take a look at our page and you will see that we have 3 superb riding arenas – one inside and two outside. This means we can ride in virtually all weather conditions – inside or outside. Many lessons will be conducted in our indoor school.

All our horses and ponies are well schooled and most have competed successfully in many disciplines. We have several advanced school masters, and all of them are regularly schooled and competed either by members of staff or competent clients.

How to book:

Decide what lesson you want - see below - or call or email us to discuss your needs or just to make a booking. We do not employ a full time secretary so if you reach, for example, an answer machine please be patient, we will get back to you. If we are slow do call again. Details on cost and dates of group lessons are detailed below.

We do ask for payment in advance with the booking, also do note that if you cancel the lesson with less than 24 hours notice we do not give a refund. You must present a valid receipt to get a refund.

Group Lessons:  we regulalrly run group lessons for different ages and levels of experience ... call to ask about the group that you wnat. Call on 01344-884992.

New Clients:

All new clients must complete a client detail form on booking their first lesson and your first lesson must be a private assessment lesson.  Don’t worry its’ not difficult we’ll help you through it on your first visit.

This enables us to assess you professionally and together with you determine the most appropriate programme. It also helps us address important safety issues.

What do I wear?

Hard hats to current BHS requirements and suitable footwear must be worn. No high heels, platform or ribbed soles permitted. Hats can be supplied, but its’ probably best to have your own if you want to  ride regularly.

Ladies - T-shirts/ Polo shirts are perfect. Strapless/ low cut not appropriate! No jewelry - it can snag or egt stuck.

All : gloves reccomende and do  button up jackets.

• Book 10 lessons, pay in advance and get one free. Must be taken within 3 months of purchase.
• Special rates for school bookings by arrangement.

Group Lessons - Schedule:

We run different group lessons every day. We have group lessons for all ...    

• adults or children,
• at different times of the day
• for different levels of experience from beginners and up.

These group lessons are becoming increasingly popular and additional group lessons are being added all the time. Do call or ask at the Centre for a group that may suit you.

Conditions:

1. Subject to availability
2. Bookings must be paid in advance, refunds only given with more than 24 hours notice, with a receipt (ask for one when you book).
3. Payment may be by cash, cheque or credit card.

2. It is advised that you take out personal accident insurance cover.
3. Horse riding is a risky sport, whilst we make every effort to ensure your safety, clients have to accept the risk of personal injury or loss that may occur.
4. We operate a no smoking policy throughout the premises.
