Types of Riding Lessons
The Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd is a ‘highly commended’ BHS approved riding school.
Everyone is welcome. If you are an absolute beginner or have dreams of becoming an Olympic champion, we can devise the right riding lesson programme for you.
We offer a broad range of private and group riding lessons, from child or adult beginners to advanced dressage lessons or jumping lessons as well as training for competition riders. We now can also offer cross country training on our new cross country training course designed by Eric Winter.
We are open 7 days a week and have evening riding lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Our three all-weather schools, two outside and one inside, ensure we have good all year round riding.
We own 30 well-schooled horses and ponies, including several school masters for the experienced riders. But if you would prefer to bring your own, that’s OK too.

How to book your riding lesson
All new riders, regardless of their capabilities, must have a 30 minute assessment lesson so that we can devise the most appropriate plan for you.
Whilst weekends are busy and it makes sense to book early you can nearly always get a lesson at weekends, even late – call and ask what is available.
Payment will be taken at the time of booking. Our prices assume advanced booking, any booking made (by phone or in person) on the day of the lesson will have a £3 premium. Up-to-date prices are on our current prices page or you can download the information here if you prefer.
We offer all clients the opportunity to purchase 10 lessons in advance and get one free, but note these lessons must be used within six months of purchase. Ask for details.
Please ensure you read our Useful Information for New Riders before booking, as this contains our terms and conditions and useful information such as what to wear.
