Hello and welcome to the Berkshire Riding Centre Ltd and to www.brc.uk.com.
We have designed this website to give you a good overview of the Centre. If you are new to us, then hopefully this site will describe who we are, what we stand for and what services and facilities we offer. If you already know us the site is to keep you up-to-date about events, clinics etc.

However nothing beats seeing us for yourselves, so read the site and call with any questions or just turn up and visit us. Enter the website by the menu bar above, selecting what ever interests you; alternatively move about by the various hot buttons littered around the site. Many of the tabs above have sub menus under them, so just move your cursor over the tab to see what is hidden behind it, then click on what interests you.
Treat this page like a newspaper , it contains a summary of important news, and points you to different places in the site for more detail. Do scroll down.
Check in at the reception centre, Marie our office manager will look after you. Do use it to book in, pay your bill or just wait while your child or friend have their lesson and watch them through the large windows. Its' heated so you'll stay warm when it is cold.
SNOW: we are fully open and operating so, take care , drive carefully, and come and see us!!
Riding School upgrade: recently upgraded with new guttering and new translucent panels along one side to match the cladding behind the stables in the Annex. Not only does this improve lighting when you ride but it should also help us cut the use of electricity.
Livery (full): we now have two livery spaces available. Livery here is very popular and spaces do not come available very often, so if you are interested call now. See the livery page via the tab above for full details, prices etc.
Lessons: we offer lessons for anyone over 4 years old, whatever your level of experience. All teaching staff are qualified, and on individual development programmes to ensure they are equipped to help you. See the lessons page for details - use lesson tab above.
BHS Rating of Centre "Highly Commended"
The BHS annual assessment of the Centre at the end of last year resulted in a Highly Commended assessment on all aspects of their inspection. This is highly significant and reflects well on all staff at the BRC and means that you, our clients, can be confident that the facilities and services you receive here are amongst the best in the country.
Staff structure: Emma Smith, Stable manager is in charge of all aspects of horse care and stable management. To this end Chloe, Hanna, Monika, and Magda report to her. Kristy Mills is the Senior Instructor at the yard. Both Kristy and Emma report to Rosie Lord and together with Marie (see below) form the senior management team of the Centre.
Marie Johnston - Office Manager, is there to help you. Marie is here five days week, with Wednesdays and Thursdays as her days off. She works a 9am – 6pm day, and will be in the office fixed times so you know you can contact us – weekdays 11am-3pm and weekends 9am-3pm inclusive. So do call her then so she can help. When you arrive at the yard check in with her and she can help as needed.
Vending - we have two vending machines one with canned drinks and one with confectionary, crisps and bottled water. Both are located in the entrance area to the indoor school.
Lockers: many of you bring important things which need to be put away safely when you ride. Do use the 10 lockers just next to the vending machines. They take a one pound coin, this releases the key which you take with you. When you go back to the locker and open with the key you get the coin back.
Lost Jewellry - in the run up to Christmas we found a valuable piece of jewelry that someone had dropped. No one claimed it. We have now handed it in to Ascot Police Station. If you think this is yours go and see them to make your claim.
Meet the Horses:
Come and meet our horses. We have set up a page with pictures of most of the horses at the Centre called Meet the Horses which is under the about us tab above. Go there now, or whenever you want to , and meet them!
Lesson/ Course Payment: do note payment must be made at time of booking a lesson or a course. Also note our policy on refunds/ cancellation:
Lessons: refunds/ booking changes are only allowed with more than 24 hours notice.
Courses: refunds are only given with more than two weeks notice.
Note: refund policy - you must present a valid receipt (till receipt or credit card receipt) to claim a refund.
Group lessons evenings: We run group lessons most evenings starting at 6pm or 6:30pm for those of you who can't make it during the day because of work commitments. However they are not all full. Call to participate in these, and like many maybe make it a regular fixture? Most are walk, trot, canter some are jumping - call to find out what makes sense for you. Call 01344-884992.
Email: Feel free to make email bookings for lessons or send messages to the yard etc. When making bookings don't forget to include payment details and a telephone number. Send them to info@brc.uk.com.

Every single person on all the courses we ran in 2011 passed. Congratulations to every single one of them. Not one failure in 2011!! If you are serious and want this qualification, then this is the place for you. We believe we have the right formula for success so sign up without delay.
The full 2012 programme, starting in February, is now available - see courses page. The February date is filling up so do call soon, the April course and exam is fully open if that suits you.
We have added a March 30th exam date which have a few spaces available and we are willing to allow those who wish to book just for the exam (£50 charge) to book for this now. So if that suits you do call.
E&T/ Stage IV Training - This is course run by Robert Pickles, FBHS at the Centre. See courses page for dates.
Stable Management Courses available - aimed at different levels individual or in groups - see courses page or call. Stage 1/2 one hour programmes held every Saturday at 12pm.

BRC/ Pony Club Sweat shirts available now - £20 all sizes (child only). Ask when you are next in.Adult Programme - by popular demand, and proving to be extremely popular - we had 12 participants on the last course. We normally plan these on bank holidays to fit in with your busy schedules.
Introduction to riding for Adults : You may have thought about taking riding up but were not too sure. This new course is for you, it's for adults wanting to try riding - next date: TBA.
Adult Day Camp: You will have some experience but want to learn more. This day is for you. See courses page for more detail or call and ask - 01344-884992. - next date: TBA.
Adult Hacks: Next date: TBA. NEW ... by popular demand. Price £60. Call to book.

Meet us here. Reception Centre You can book here for lessons, pay your bill or just wait inside and watch your child , or whoever, having their lesson in comfort. Training Centre: The training room, which has internet, audio visual facilities etc, is ideal for the various training programmes we hold. See courses page or events page for details. Note: it is closed when courses are not being held. Stables in barn - upgrade: The refurbishment of the stables in the barn has now been completed.
Haybarn : The Haybarn is in the corner of the field alongside the car park. This is designed to hold a years supply of hay to ensure a) we have the supply we need and b) have hay of a consistent quality. For safety reasons the barn is out of bounds and we would ask all visitors to ensure they and their party respect this.
Horse Loan: Would you like to (almost) own a horse, but not actually have to buy one! From time to time we are able to arrange a loan on one of our school horses. Note : this is only available to those who regularly take lessons with us.For less than half the full-livery rate (from £275) one of our horses would be allocated to you, whilst we would still use the horse for lessons you would be allocated a number of hours each week - call to discuss. As a livery client you would be entitled to our discounted lesson rate. Contact Rosie or Marie if you are interested. Look upon this as a minimum three month commitment. Payment is monthly in advance by standing order.

Birthday Party: do you want to organise a birthday party for your daughter or son? Call Marie in the office - who can help arrange a unique birthday party to mark that special day. Children must be 6 or over. Party groups must be a minimum of 6 children.The cost is £30 a child. Call on 01344-884992 to discuss. Note we can only offer Sunday afternoons. On the day Kristy, our party co-ordinator, will be in charge of the event to make sure it goes well. Radio Berkshire: Radio Berkshire were at the Centre recently making a live broadcast on riding.

Riding and Road Safety courses and exams: We had a great year in 2011. Everyone has passed - well done! The full 2012 R&RS exam and training schedule is available - see courses page.
